Ligo makes legal services for entrepreneurs transparent and accessible.

Many (young) entrepreneurs are skeptical when it comes to lawyers and the legal industry. Wendy Bogers, a former large firm lawyer, decided it was time for a change when she saw dozens of colleagues copy-pasting legal docs for upwards of €250 per hour. We joined her on the mission to build the legal industry of the future.

Legal services are too expensive, far from transparent and very old-fashioned. The young generation of entrepreneurs grew up Googling and modifying necessary documents; not always aware that this could put them in risky legal situations. Talking to potential customers in person, we found out that a lot of people were waiting for the modernization of legal services.

With that in our minds, we continued to investigate how the actual product should work. Iterations and validations learned that users wished for:

  • A self-service platform for customized contracts
  • Up-to-date content by real lawyers
  • Communication with real lawyers, a legal marketplace

In just 10 weeks time, we managed to get the platform live and create real revenue. A phase with many small iterations followed, ensuring great Problem-Solution fit. With a solid product and user base, Ligo managed to raise two rounds of funding.
