We met Wendy Bogers, the CEO of Ligo and were immediately intrigued by her pitch for Ligo. As entrepeneurs we felt the pain of the traditional legal system, being charged ridiculous prices for standardized work where technology is kept as far away as possible. This industry has to change, so we partnered up to make the online platform Ligo a reality.
Development and design of the platform started in July with a clear goal: have the platform up and running within 12 weeks.
Internally a new version of Ligo was shipped every single day. Checking every step of the way whether the product fitted the needs of our users.
The platform was built by TMI from scratch making use of latest technologies and strong open-source initiatives.
As we shared offices with the Ligo team during this intense 12 week programme, we were able to not only build the platform, but also make sure that all the content was created in tandem.
Launch time baby! After just 10 weeks of creation and testing we flipped the switch and Ligo went live. And on that very first day Ligo also got its first customers who created their own contracts straight from the platform.
Fundraising is one of the crucial parts for most startups. Getting the right amount of funding at the right time makes all the difference. Ligo opted to raise a round with Leapfunder, which facilitates a convertible note structure, a very reasonable way to fund a startup in its' early days.
Ligo raised a succesful round in convertible notes, securing stability for the future!
Development and design of the platform never stopped as we kept on refining the way our users were best supported on Ligo. We launched new services and updated various user-flows, all to find the product market fit for the Ligo.
Next to continued development, we helped with hiring the right people to grow the business. With a technology product as complex as Ligo it is essential to have a dedicated team available that can build out the product. We always strive to get the right people on board that can support the company in the long run.
For Ligo some excellent developers were recruited and trained by us to be ready to take the product to the next level.
The Next Web Conference is by far the most important conference for startups in The Netherlands and maybe even Europe. Ligo was one of the selected startups to pitch on stage and be on the showfloor as part of the Boost program.
As Ligo keeps growing so does the team and its' presence within the Dutch market. Having already served thousands of customers it is time for new diggs. Ligo is asked to join TQ in Amsterdam, the startup hub by The Next Web and Google. Exciting times ahead!
Ligo continues to build its' business and that does not go unnoticed. Even the dutch prime minister Mark Rutte acknowledges the importance of innovation in the legal industry. He stated:
"The Netherlands has many startup entrepeneurs that have the potential to build really big businesses. At the opening of startup hub TQ in Amsterdam I met one of these entrepeneurs: Wendy Bogers, the founder of Ligo. Ligo is a service that makes you think: 'Why hasn't anybody else thought of this before!'"
Ligo wins the Dutch Legal Challenge award, organized by @InnoJustice 🖖.
